Easton House Fire Likely Sparked By Space Heater
No one was injured in the fire at a Turnpike Street home Friday night.

EASTON, MA — A space heater is thought to have started a house fire at a Turnpike Street home Friday night.
A spokesperson for Eason Fire said no one was home or injured by the blaze, which firefighters responded to around 7 p.m. after someone driving by called 911. The fire originated in a first-floor bedroom and engulfed the mattress and nightstand.
Firefighters got things under control with a quick, aggressive attack, according to the spokesperson.

"Crews did an excellent job quickly putting out the fire and containing damage to the one bedroom," Chief Kevin Partridge said. "Due to their aggressive attack, there was minimal damage to the majority of the home."
The bedroom took fire and water damage, and the home took smoke damage. The American Red Cross is working with the homeowners.
