Easton Man Arrested For Assault and Battery on Police Officer

An 18-year-old Easton man was arrested last week for assault and battery on a police officer after a vehicle he was in was stopped for having defective equipment.
Cody Mandanici, 18, of 501 Washington Street, Easton was arrested for assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly person after he fled when police stopped the vehicle, Police Chief Allen Krajcik said.

He was arraigned on Friday.
Krajcik said Officer Sean Lynch pulled over Mandanici's vehicle at approximately 2 a.m. Friday morning near Stonehill College on Washington Street.

"As he approached the two occupants he could smell a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car and noticed that the occupants had lowered all the windows in the car as he approached it," Krajcik said.
Mandanici, the passanger, fled, resulting in a foot pursuit.
"The passenger fled from the vehicle on foot onto Stonehill College and was subsequently apprehended by Officers Jason Wheeler and Anthony DiCarlo," Krajcik said.
