Easton Police Make OUI Arrest After Pursuit

Easton Police arrested a Stoughton man on a 4th offense OUI Wednesday.

A Stoughton man was arrested Wednesday for his fourth offense of drinking and driving after a pursuit that led Easton Police into Stoughton.

David Brodt, 47, of 128 Lake Drive, Stoughton, was arrested for operating under the influence of alcohol- fourth offense, operating to endanger, failing to stop for an officer and speeding. He was held on $5,000 cash bail.

Police first received a call from on Columbus Avenue at 2:30 p.m. reporting a customer leaving the store who appeared to be intoxicated. Police responded but could not immediately find the 2001 red buick, Police Chief said.

Shortly afterwards, Easton Police Sergeant James McAvoy was traveling on North Main Street when the vehicle drove through a stop sign, nearly hitting the his cruiser, Krajcik said. McAvoy attempted to pull Brodt over, but he did not immediately stop.

He was finally arrested at Lake Drive in Stoughton, Krajcik said.
