Easton Police Make OUI Arrest Saturday Night

arrested a Vermont man Saturday evening for drunk driving.

Cody Hatt, 26, of Springfield Vermont was arrested Saturday evening at approximately 7:50 p.m. for operating under the influence of alcohol after Police received a call describing a possible drunk driver outside of Hennesey's package store.

Police arrived to find that Hatt had moved to the parking lot next door where he was taken into custody.

Motor Vehicle Operator With Flashing Blue Lights

Easton Police issued a summons Thursday night after receiving multiple calls regarding a motor vehicle operator flashing blue lights.

Police received multiple calls at approximately 9:45 p.m. regarding a grey sports car traveling at "an extremely high rate of speed" from the 99 restaurant on Belmont Street and south down route 138 with blue lights flashing.

One caller later said the operator made him pull over on Center Street before turning onto Fairfield Lane.

Police identified the residence where the vehicle was located and issued a summons.

Breaking and Entering Reported Thursday

Police are investigating a breaking and entering incident reported on Morse Road Thursday.

Police responded when a neighbor called stating the screen door had been pushed in and nobody should have been home. After the homeowner returned, police searched the house and the owner noticed that things were missing.

Police returned to the station with items they believe may have fingerprints.
