Easton Residents to Perform with Brockton Symphony on Sunday

The Brockton Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro James Orent, celebrates its 67th concert season by continuing The Voyage Home, its epic, three-year symphonic voyage around the world on Sunday November 2 at 3 p.m. Oliver Ames High School in North Easton. Representing Easton will be Lorrie Hassan, flute & piccolo; John Dennison, French horn, Tom Williams, trombone, Stephanie Billingham, viola, Julia Constantinou and Karen Grant, violin, and John Schuller, trumpet.

Titled, Rhine Journey, the upcoming concert finds inspiration from the Rhine region of Germany with performances of Weber’s Oberon Overture, Bruch’s Symphony No. 3 in E Major and Kol Nidrei and Haydn’s Cello Concerto No. 1 in C Major featuring cellist David Shin, first runner-up for the 2012 Feinberg Youth Competition. Tickets are $20 per person, $15 for seniors and students and free for children under age 12 when accompanied by an adult.

Other upcoming programs on the schedule for the 67th season of the Brockton Symphony Orchestra include: December 7, Holiday Pops!; January 25, Chamber Music Concert; March 1, Viva Scandinavia!; and May 3, Rule Britannia.
