Grant recorded his third save of the season on one-and-two-thirds innings, one hit, two walks and three punchouts. He entered the contest in the bottom of the eighth with a one out, bases-loaded jam as Wheaton led 8-3. Grant allowed two runs to score on a two-run single to right field but bounced back with a pair of strikeouts to end the Pioneers threat in the frame.
Wheaton (5-4, 0-0 NEWMAC) returns home for its next contest against Suffolk University on Tuesday, March 19 at 3:30 p.m. The College of Wooster (4-3) takes on John Hopkins tomorrow in Fort Myers, Fla. at 4:00 p.m.
