Enrollments are open for Easton Children's Theatre's popular summer theatre program. The group is limited to 30 kids, age nine to 17 from any town. Each participant will have a speaking and singing role in the full length Sixties musical, “GROOVY!."
The program will run daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, from Monday, June 27 to Friday, July 22, with performances on July 22 and 23 at Easton Middle School. Participants can miss up to three classes as long as it is not the last week before the shows.
In addition to rehearsing for the musical, participants will learn a lot about acting and singing and also have lots of fun playing games and socializing. The ECT summer program offers an excellent opportunity to study the craft of acting and a chance to have personalized voice training and movement instruction in a relaxed, low pressure environment. Because it is a community theatre, the cost of the program is very reasonable.

The musical comedy the group will be working on this summer, “GROOVY!”, is a musical tribute to the 1960s. The hippies and the flower children decide to throw a free music celebration featuring a popular singing group, The Lemon Bugs (a Beatles-type group). Unfortunately, the Lemon Bugs bug out at the last minute. But between the surfers, the reporters, the fashion mavens and the befuddled locals, there is still plenty of entertainment to go around.
