The public is invited to the annual Scholarship Pops Concert given by the Oliver Ames High School and Easton Middle School jazz bands and show choirs on Tuesday April 12th at 7:00 PM in the beautiful Oliver Ames Performing Arts Center. Appearing will be the Oliver Ames High School Show Choir and Pit Band, Panache’; the Easton Middle School show choir, Image; the Oliver Ames High School Jazz Band; and the Easton Middle School Jazz Band.
The Oliver Ames High School Show Choir and Pit Band, Panache’, received a Gold Medal and were named Grand Champion at the 26th Eastern Massachusetts Show Choir Festival in Waltham on Saturday, April 2nd. In addition, they received awards for Best Instrumental, Best Show and Best Vocal performance in the prestigious Champion Division. At the Central Massachusetts Show Choir Festival in February, Panache’, received a Gold Medal and were named Best In Show. Besides winning top honors, Livvy Marcus was named Best Female Soloist and the Pit Band horn section consisting of Ralph Peterson, Bobby Kline, Nicole Romero, Sid Duffy, Anthony Li, James Dalton, and Yasmine Mifdal, received a Special Judges Award for Best Horn Line for their “mature and professional sound”.
The Easton Middle School Show Choir, Image, competed in the Varsity Division in Waltham and brought home a well-deserved Silver Medal.

The Oliver Ames High School jazz band is one of the best in the state and is appearing at the Hatch Shell in Boston in May for the third time in 4 years! The band received a Gold Medal at the state finals of the Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education Festival in March. Michael Hansen on baritone sax and Ralph Peterson on trumpet received outstanding musicianship awards.
Peterson and Hansen were also selected to participate in the Southeastern Senior District Jazz Band. Ralph has made The Senior District Jazz Band the past 3 years and Michael the past 2 years. These two talented musicians were also selected to participate in this year's All-State Jazz Band Ensemble. The band has been invited to perform in the Hatch Shell Big Band Jazz Showcase with the top high school jazz ensembles in the state on Sunday, May 15th.
