Eye-catching Traffic Islands

The Easton Garden Club keeps working to beautify the town! This project is two traffic islands at the intersection of Rt. 138 and Depot St.

Have you noticed a colorful change at the islands located at the intersection of Rt. 138 and Depot Street? The Easton Garden Club has been hard at work beautifying the streets of Easton. The club worked hand in hand with the Easton Department of Public Works, who helped dig out the two concrete islands and backfill them with loam. Members of the Easton Garden Club took time on a sunny, Sunday morning to plant a mixture of flowers including Black Eyed Susans, Echinacea and much more. The club would like to thank John Carroll, owner of Wash “N” Depot Car Wash and Imran Bhatti, owner of Mutual Gas Station who graciously opened their doors to supply the water for the irrigation drip system that was installed in the islands. The funding for this project was made possible by events that the Easton Garden Club hosts such as the Festival of Trees. Planning is already underway for the 2014 Festival of Trees. For more information on how a business, club or individual can be a sponsor of the Festival of Trees, please contact Nancy Cohenno at (781) 706-8330 or email Nancyc314@aol.com.
