Easton Cop Charlie Hopkins Mourned

Hopkins died Saturday.

Easton is mourning the death of Police Officer Charles "Charlie" Hopkins.

Hopkins died Saturday. Authorities said the death was sudden and there was no evidence of foul play, according to WCVB-TV.

"Officer Hopkins was a dedicated veteran of the Easton PD for more than thirteen years," Police Chief Allen Krajcik said in a statement. "More importantly, Charlie was a devoted husband and father of three children. Charlie will be sadly missed by everyone."

Colleagues said Hopkins pulled a man from a burning car in 2012, saving his life, WCVB reported.

A wake will be held Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Nardolillo Funeral Home in Cranston, Rhode Island. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Cranston Christian Fellowship.
