Festival of Ten-minute Plays coming to Easton
The Premiere Shovel Town 10-Minute Play Festival Opens September 25th & 26th at Oakes Ames Memorial Hall

The Stedfast School of Music & Arts, in conjunction with The Shovel Town Cultural District is proud to announce the premiere of “The Shovel Town Ten-minute Play Festival”. This exciting theatrical event in Easton’s historic Oakes Ames Memorial Hall will feature a multigenerational cast of thirty-five local actors under the direction of seven directors. The evening will feature eight plays. Live music will be performed as a bridge between plays, with music ranging from Broadway to classic rock.
The Festival was the brain-child of Stedfast School of Music and Arts owner Paula Greiner who approached Carolyn Cole, Chair of the Easton Shovel Town Cultural District with the idea of collaborating on the event. “Programs of short plays are becoming very popular. They are a wonderful way to showcase the rich talent we have in the area.” According to Ms. Cole, the festival has everything, “What better way to extend the arts and culture of the community than to involve local residents of many age groups in a theatrical performance? Serious drama to light comedy with live music—all in one venue!”
Performances will be held Friday, September 25th and Saturday, September 26th at 7:30. Oakes Ames Memorial Hall is located at 3 Barrows Street, North Easton. General Admission tickets are available for $18 and $15 for students and seniors and are available at Stedfast School of Music & Arts, The Art Coop/Gallery, The Marketplace at Simpson Spring, The Bank of Easton, The Easton Council on Aging and on-line at http://www.oakesameshall.org/event-tickets/.
