Former Stonehill Student Sentenced to Federal Probation

Former Stonehill student Sterlynn Robbins, who threatened to blow up the school, was sentenced to probation, and other news from around the Easton campus.

Sterlynn Robbins, an ex-Stonehill student who threatened in a text message to blow up the school, was sentenced in federal court to 36 months supervised release with special conditions.

U.S. District Court Judge Mark L. Wolf on Jan. 24 ordered Robbins, 23, to pay $200  in fines penalties in addition to 36 months supervised release, according to court documents filed in the Boston federal courthouse.

Prosecutors were seeking three years supervised release while Robbins’ attorneys sought 18 months supervised release.

Under the terms of his supervised release, Robbins is required to report to a probation officer monthly, and he must participate in a mental health treatment, including anger management.

Robbins is prohibited from excessive drinking, consuming any drugs and cannot possess a firearm, ammunition or any other dangerous weapon, according to the standard conditions of supervision listed in the court documents.

Robbins is also barred from returning to Stonehill College or anywhere in the vicinity of campus.
