Grand Opening of the Governor Ames Estate

Enjoy a day-long festival and art exhibition in celebration.

The official public opening of the Governor Oliver Ames Estate will take place on Sunday, June 29 from 11am-4pm. The Trustees of the Reservations (one of Massachusetts's largest conservation organizations) has teamed up with the Easton Shovel Town Cultural District to celebrate the opening with a festival and juried art exhibition.

Throughout the day, fun activities all over the property include live music, art programs, a lantern parade, scavenger hunt, pilates, and much more. Bring your own lunch or purchase food from vendors around the Estate and picnic by the pond. There will also be a walking tour of the Estate, and historical buildings will be open for tours.

In addition, the Legacy Juried Art Exhibition has been planned on the property for the day. The exhibition is open in two categories: Senior (over 18) and Junior (under 18), with cash prizes in each. For more information on entering and prizes, email legacyartshow1@aol.com or call 508-230-5874.
