Hazardous Material Incident on Bay Road Saturday
A possible toxic chemical highlights today's Police and Fire Log.

A fire engine and an ambulance responded to 469 Bay Road at approximately 8:15 p.m. last Saturday for a possible toxic chemical in the home. Nobody was injured and the situation was handled by Easton emergency officials.
The homeowner said he used a drain cleaner on his toilet and when he poured the sulfuric acid drain cleaner into the toilet it reacted with the water to produce a gas. The owner opened the windows and shut the doors to the bathroom.
s entered the house wearing full turnout gear and self contained breathing apparatus monitoring air quality with the gas meter. They flushed the acid, removed and disposed of the wet bath rugs and advised the owner to keep windows and doors closed to the bathroom.

Motor Vehicle Accident on Elm Street Wednesday
A fire engine and an ambulance investigated a motor vehicle accident on Elm and Frothingham Wednesday at approximately 3:30 p.m. The accident turned out to be minor and no hospital transport was necessary.

Bonfire Extinguished Wednesday Evening
Two fire engines responded to a reported bonfire on the rear deck of an Adams Street residence Wednesday night at approximately 9:30 p.m. The homeowner was ordered to extinguish the fire.
Cooking Fire on Columbus Avenue
One fire engine investigated a cooking fire seen from outside a Columbus Avenue residence Thursday at approximately noon. The homeowner was apparently cooking linguise and was advised by emergency officials. No hazard was reported.
