Highland Variety Held at Gunpoint

A man with a semi-automatic handgun attempted to rob Wednesday night.

A clerk at the convenience store called at approximately 9:50 p.m. Wednesday to report the hold-up. The clerk said the man, approximately 5-8 in height, entered the store and showed the weapon, before leaving in a black Dodge 1500 pickup towards Mansfield.

Upon arrival, police reported nothing taken from the store and viewed the security video. The man was wearing a red bandanna or hat, blue jeans, and a black hoodie. Mansfield police were notified.

Shoplifting at CVS Thursday

An employee at at the five corners reported shoplifting from the store Thursday at approximately 7:45 p.m.

The employee said a male and a female, both approximately 30 years old, left with an unknown amount of items and headed down Depot Street in a green Ford Taurus.

Personal Injury Reported on Canton Street Saturday

One person was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center after a motor vehicle accident on Canton Street late Saturday night.

Police received a call at approximately 11:15 p.m. regarding a crash. The driver, described as a 20 year-old white male, reportedly took off into Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Officers searched the area and found the injured party before transporting him to the hospital.

Property Damage Early Sunday

Central Street and Hollis Street were closed early Sunday morning as a result of a one-car motor vehicle accident into a pole that knocked wires across the street.

Police responded to the incident at 1:45 a.m. Sunday and notified National Grid and the Easton Water Department. A summons was issued to the operator.

Operating Under the Influence Early Sunday

Easton Police confronted a motor vehicle in the parking lot of at approximately 3:50 a.m. Sunday and subsequently arrested Luis Martinez, 27, for operating under the influence.
