Malden Man Wanted in Florida, Arrested in Easton

William J. Sharkey II, 29, is set to extradited to Florida.

A Malden man wanted as a fugitive from justice in Florida was arrested by police in Easton early Tuesday morning.

William J. Sharkey II, 29, was arrested by police after an officer noticed a vehicle driven by Sharkey stop in the middle of an intersection before making a U-turn onto Main Street towards Washington Street, according to the Enterprise. The officer also noticed that the car did not have a license plate.

Police learned of the outstanding arrest warrant after pulling over the vehicle. Court records show that he has been approved for extradition to Florida. Sharkey did not pay a $1,000 bond issued out of Broward County court, according to court records. An arrest warrant was issued in March.
