Easton Man Killed By Snowplow Identified

The 64-year-old Easton man was changing a tire on his van in the breakdown lane, when he was struck by a red pickup truck with a plow.

EASTON, MA — Police have identified the Easton man, who was killed while changing a tire on the side of the road, when a snowplow struck him. The victim was identified as Mark Bobbitt, 64.

A little before 1 p.m., on Wednesday, police were called to Washington Street. Police said Bobbitt was changing a tire on his van in the breakdown lane, when he was struck by a red pickup truck with a snowplow attached to it.

When emergency personnel found Bobbitt, they said he was suffering from life threatening injuries. Two bystanders were already performing CPR on him when paramedics arrived. The man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton, but he succumbed to his injuries. Police said the driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

Route 138 was closed from Rockmeadow Road to Dickerman Road during the investigation.
