Martial Arts Show Features Local and National Celebrities

Not everyone gets to see boards breaking, students flying mid-air and weapons blazed on a Friday night in New England… and are safe! But at the Personal Best Karate martial arts show coming up, it’s all that glamour plus more amazing performances by both local and national celebrities.

On Friday, June 23, join the local community at the Black Belt Spectacular presented by Personal Best Karate. The show will feature 63 candidates for Black Belt degrees, along with demonstrations from staff and special guests. The candidates are students from the five Personal Best Karate schools in the area and have been working on their degrees for four years.

This year, the special guests include World Champion brothers Reid and Jake Presley. Reid has won more than 42 titles with the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA), among many other awards, and had performed in commercials and stunt work on the television show “Into the Badlands” on AMC. Jake has also won numerous awards with NASKA, including the overall NASKA 13 and under weapons Grand Championship two years in a row. Jake was also seen in the movie “The Accountant” with Ben Affleck and has appeared in “Into the Badlands”.

Other honors will be awarded as well, one going to a local teacher as they are inducted into the Personal Best Teacher Hall of Fame and the second to the student recipient of the Good Citizen Scholarship Award.

This event, sure to inspire and wow the audience, will be held at Oliver Ames High School auditorium, 100 Lothrop Street in North Easton. It is open to the public and tickets are $20 each.
