Keough added the decision was made on the recommendation of the Easton Police Department and there is no threat towards any Easton schools or students. All other schools are operating as normal.

The Moreau School houses Easton students from pre-K to second grade and is located on the edge of the Stonehill campus.

As a precaution, all classes and activities at Stonehill College have been canceled for the day according to a statement from the school’s director of communications Martin McGovern.

“Students and staff have been advised of the threat and ongoing search and have been given the option to leave campus or remain in residence halls. We hope and expect that the search will be concluded by later today and campus life will return to its regular schedule this weekend,” the statement said.

As of 12:23 p.m., students remaining on campus have been asked to move to the sports complex in order to complete the search of the residential halls, according to a mass text obtained by FOX 25.
