Easton Children's Theatre's (ECT) summer production, the musical "GROOVY!", will be performed Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 at 7 p.m. at Easton Middle School on Columbus Avenue.
"GROOVY!" is a musical tribute to the 1960s. The hippies and the flower children decide to throw a free music celebration featuring a popular singing group, The Lemon Bugs (a Beatles type group). Unfortunately, the Lemon Bugs bug out at the last minute. But between the surfers, the reporters, the fashion mavens and the befuddled locals, there is still plenty of entertainment to go around.
The promoters of the music festival will be played by Brendan Shanahan, Tyler DeCouto, Chris Galas, Aislynn Blaney and Ella Rivers. The rock group, The Lemon Bugs, feature Matt Guarino, Cameron Isveck and Emma Donovan. The frustrated Sheriff and his deputy are played by Remy MacInnis and Jonathan McArdle. The owner of the farm where they are having the festival is played by Daniel Linhares, and other local residents are Danielle Geary, Sabrina Morais, Katie Sobieraj, Julianna Ferrarra, Abby Hagerty and Garin Miner Drewes. Other hippies, flower children, and assorted characters include Ashlyn Woods, Sydney Kullen, Amanda Folgel, Owen Parker, Alyssa Kenney, William Burns, Kylie Spillane, Ryan Linhares, Nazirah Fannoney, Amaya Smith, Jonah Sabieraj, Laney Parker, Erin Reilly and Kayla Kenney.
