The spring season will kick off with Farm and Fun Day on Saturday, May 5 at Sheep Pasture on Main Street in Easton. A long-running annual event, Farm and Fun Day has a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. Scaveger hunts, crafts, games, animal talks, food, face painting and more will all be part of the day’s events. A number of groups will be involved in Farm and Fun Day, providing some of the day’s festivities. Among the participants, will be the Easton Eco-Mom Alliance hosting a seed-planting booth, Easton Grange 196 offering traditional farm games, and music by local fiddle player Anna McGee. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors Roche Bros. Market, Lloyds Animal Medical Center, Fernandes Lumber, and Shaws Markets, Farm and Fun Day promises to be a great day for all!
The adventures continue at Sheep Pasture throughout the summer, with a number of different events and activities planned. In June, the NRT will work with the Brockton Cross Country Club to host a 5K cross country race, the only one of its kind in the area. A series of family night hikes led by NRT teacher/naturalists are scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays in June, July and August to encourage adults and children to come and learn more about the property that many people visit every day. Sheep Pasture Nature Camp and Knee High Adventures will begin in June and continue throughout the summer, giving children from preschool to high school the opportunity to learn about their environment and have fun.
