"These girls are determined," Gray said. "I repeatedly told them the scores throughout the meet, and they set their minds forward from there."
Other top performers on the girls side:
Sophomore Sabrina Foote broke her 500 freestyle time by accomplishing her goal of coming in under 7 minutes. This comes from an athlete who has taken over a minute and a half off her time since last season, Gray said.
Freshman Girls also proved themselves on the team, she said. Isabella Bachman came down .54 in the 200 freestyle, which she has only now swam 3 times this season.
Gray added that senior Captain Candy Sheehan, swam her hardest this season and received her top times of her time on OA Swim.
On the boys side, the Tigers finished their season on a high note.
Senior Captain Matt Bates finished his career with OA as the records to beat. He finished 1st in the 200 Individual Medley relay, and then led his team in all three of the relays. His top times in the 50 free and 100 Free were among the best times in his seat with OA.
"We are talking about a kid who could not swim a lap of the pool freshman year," Gray said. "He had aspired to be as good as he is today. He is moving onto Holy Cross where he will swim at a collegiate level."
Senior Chris Doty swam hard in the 200 freestyle, taking 1.83 seconds off and making it his all time best in the event. Senior CaptainHarris Brenner swam in the 50 freestyle and mutiple relays, joining his teammates in all time bests. Senior Connor Fiske not only swam 4 events, but decided Wednesday was his day when he takes a first place in the 100 freestyle after just swimming the 100 butterfly where he placed second.
Senior Chris Lockwood made this year his best, rewarding himself with top times in the 100 breasstroke, along with several relays that fought their way through the season to get some of their best times. Zack Raynard swam two strong events in the 50 freee, 500 free and two relays. He walks into the Hock Championships leading two of OA's best relays.
Hockomock dive championship will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Massasoit Community College. Swim championships are at Attleboro Saturday. Boys will be at 9 a.m. and girls at 1 p.m.
