Earle P. Curry, 94, a resident of Easton for the past 68 years, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater after a brief illness. He was the husband of Evelyn (Haskell) Curry for 37 years.

Born in New Bedford on September 27, 1918, a son of the late Mathew and Mary (Irving) Curry, he was a veteran of WII having served as a corporal in the US Army.

Earle was employed as a mink rancher and owned and operated Curry's Mink Ranch on Purchase Street in Easton for 25 years.

His hobbies included antiques, gardening and studying the stock market.

In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by several nieces and nephews and was the brother of William Curry, Jessica Curry, Arthur Curry, Hilda McFadden and Harold Curry.

Funeral Services were private with interment to be held at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Easton. Arrangements were  by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington St. (Rte.138) Easton.

Ernest R. Camara

Ernest R. Camara, 82, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 following a period of failing health. He was the husband of Mary (McManus) Camara for 57 years.

Born in North Easton, he was the son of the late John and Isabel (Correia) Camara. He was educated in Easton and graduated from Oliver Ames High School, Class of 1949 and from Bentley College in 1955.

Prior to his retirement, Ernie had been employed by the Town of Easton as the town accountant for 18 years and earlier at Garland Corporation of Brockton for 15 years. A veteran of the Korean War he served with the US Marines as a Cpl.

Ernie was a Past Commander and an active member of the George F. Schindler Post 2547, Veterans of Foreign Wars, a charter and life member of the Knights of Columbus Council 238 of Easton, a member of the 1st Lt. Brian McPhillip Metro South Marine Corps League Detachment 1115, and a member of the Korean Veterans Association.

He served on the planning committee for Easton's 250th Anniversary Parade in 1975 and the 275th Anniversary Parade in 2000. He enjoyed coin collecting, playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easton before moving to Taunton where he was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle.

In addition to his wife Mary, he leaves four daughters, Anne Marie Camara of Taunton, Joanne Faust and her husband Scott of Easton, Lisa Bodio and her husband Jack of Bridgewater, Jeanette Mitchell and her husband John of Bridgewater; five grandchildren, Benjamin Faust, Edward "Ted" Faust, Nathan Faust, Stephanie Ataman and Rebecca Ataman. He is also survived by three brothers, John Camara of Stoughton, Joseph Camara of Easton, and Abel "Bill" Camara of Rockville, MD.; five sisters, Celeste Dahlborg of Taunton, Evangeline Crocker of Easton, Alice Camara of South Fallsburg, NY., Isabel "Linda" Amorim of Easton and Gloria Walsh of Bourne. He was predeceased by his older brother John and his sister Mary Rose.

Arrangements were handled by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, and a funeral Mass was held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Easton with Interment with military honors will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.

John B. Vlaco

John B. Vlaco, 66, of Fairhaven, formerly of Easton, died peacefully, Aug. 2, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the husband of 22 years of Maureen E. (Ball) Vlaco. 

John was born in Sri Lanka, son of the late Raymond and Katherine (Brophy) Vlaco. He was raised in Bombay, India (now Mumbai) and Italy. He settled in the United States after his graduation from Stonehill College. John, a successful General Contractor and Real Estate Developer, founded Brophy & Phillips Co., Inc. in Brockton. 

For more than 40 years he ran his company and was also a longtime board member and supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton. John was a generous man who traveled the world extensively with his wife; was an avid boater and pretend fisherman.

In addition to his wife Maureen, he is survived by a son Peter and his wife Cecilia Roddy of Brookline; a brother Kevin Vlaco and his wife Carol of Middleboro and several nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 4-8 p.m. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. for a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the South Easton Cemetery, Easton, MA.
