Old Colony Elder Services Promotes Brenda Carrens to Volunteer Programs Manager
OCES proudly serving older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout greater Plymouth County and surrounding communities.

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES), the non-profit agency proudly serving older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout greater Plymouth County and surrounding communities, has promoted Brenda Carrens to the position of Volunteer Programs Manager. Ms. Carrens is a resident of Taunton, MA.
In her new role as Volunteer Programs Manager, Ms. Carrens will oversee staff and operations of OCES’ Mayflower Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and report directly to Nicole Long, LICSW, Assistant Executive Director. She will also be responsible for volunteer recruitment and the development of new volunteer initiatives. Ms. Carrens celebrated her 10-year work anniversary at OCES in November 2015. Over the years, she has held positions in OCES' Money Management and Development Department, and prior to her promotion, served as Volunteer Coordinator. Previous to OCES, Ms. Carrens worked in the financial and regulatory industry for nine years.
Ms. Carrens holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas, El Paso and a certificate in Aging from the Institute for Geriatric Social Work at Boston University. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Metro South Chamber of Commerce and the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce.

A lifelong volunteer, Ms. Carrens currently volunteers for Cancer Care "CABbies" (a 501(c) 3 fundraising group to support cancer patients) and Meals on Wheels. She is also a Cub Scout leader and PTA board member, and a former board member and fundraiser for Brewins Youth Hockey.
She is a native of Midland, Texas.
