Oliver Ames Swim Teams Back on Winning Track
Both the boys and the girls defeated Stoughton on Friday afternoon

Both the Oliver Ames girls' swim team and the Oliver Ames boys' swim team beat Stoughton Friday afternoon.
The boys (1-3) won their first meet 111-55. The girls (2-2) won 135-57.
The girls placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in eight of the 12 events, placing them in the lead by the middle of the meet.

Top times included:
Freshman Haley Gula made Sectionals in both the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle, making her the top swimmer of the girls team. Gula has now qualified in four individual events for the Sectionals, one of which has brought her up to the States (100 Breast).

Another key player, Junior Julia Mudd landed herself a Sectional seat in the 200 Individual Medley. The Girls 200 Medley Relay is next in line for going to Sectionals as the team is 1/100th of a second off from qualifying them into MIT.
Mudd, Junior Christina Watson, Gula and Junior Paige Abramson have their focus and are determined to make this goal happen.

Sophomore Sabrina Foote, down 5.75 seconds in the 200 free
Freshman Shannon Tarpey, Junior Julia Mudd and Junior Paige Abramson all took over two seconds off their IM times
In the 50 free, Sophomore Krista Ruggerio went down .18 seconds, Sophomore Marissa Cremin went down .02 seconds, Carolyn Doty went down 2.75 seconds, and Elizabeth Hurley went down .07 seconds
Sophomore Sabrina Foote down 5.02 seconds in the 500 freestyle
Tori Cole (SO) down .12 in 100 breaststroke

The boys took 1st place in 8 of the 12 events.
Top times included:
Junior Brad Cole in the 50 Freestyle, going down .17 seconds and Sophomore Brendan Aborn going down .09 seconds in the same event.
Senior Captain Matt Bates went down 10.98 seconds in the 200 IM Bates and earned first place in the breaststroke.
Senior Connor Fiske managed to pick up his pace and drop .37 seconds in the 100 butterfly, while Sophomores James Sullivan and Brendan Aborn followed suit, achieving their personal best in the 500 freestyle.
Sophomore Jimmy Palmer rebounded in his breaststroke, taking .18 seconds off.
Both the boys and the girls face Medfield Monday at 4 p.m. at Massasoit Community College.
