Parkview School Seeks Community Readers

Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

Dear Easton Community,

Parkview School is looking for members of the community to come into our school as a “Mystery Reader” and read to a classroom of young students. The Mystery Reader Program is a cornerstone of our school theme this year, “Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader”. It is our goal to show our students how many people read, why they read and how reading impacts their lives. We are working together to not only teach our students to read, but to motivate them to want to read more independently. You can help us!

We would welcome ANY member of our community to read to our students. The only requirement of our readers is that each reader have a CORI (background) Check completed. Those are processed through our main office at Parkview and only take a couple of days to clear. If you are interested in reading to a classroom please contact Maureen Silverleib, Parkview’s Enrichment Coordinator, at msilverleib@gmail.com

Reading to a classroom only takes about 15 – 20 minutes and can have a powerful and motivating effect on our young citizens. We are more than willing to work around your schedule and you can read to one classroom or many classrooms. We would LOVE to welcome you to Parkview to read to our students!

Thank you for considering this powerful volunteer opportunity.

Sincerely,

Chris Getchell
