Dogs are known for their loyalty, but even so, Major the pitbull mix is no ordinary dog. He just used a phone to save his owner's life.
CNN affiliate WSXY reports that Terry McGlade, a retired Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, had collapsed from a seizure when Major took action. Thanks to the dog stepping on the phone repeatedly to call 911, McGlade's life was saved.

"I don't think I could operate in the everyday world without him right now," McGlade said.
McGlade has entered Major into the Hero Dog Awards and hopes that after his heroic deed, he'll earn some votes.

Pit Bulls are known for their owner loyalty and eagerness and willingness to learn. There are a lot of great rescue organization that are now working on getting this breed out of the shelters and trained as working dogs.
One of my personal favorites is Pits for Patriots.
Not only 1 life is saved when a rescue dog is trained into a working dog. The dogs life is saved as is the person receiving the working dog. ♥
