Some Pittbulls are raised from birth to fight to the death. Dogs that have failed or have birth defects or become ill, become “Bait Dogs”.
These poor dogs stand no chance, they are injured, have birth defects and are there to die.. Some are other breeds most are Pitbulls.

In Feb a large dog fighting ring was broken up un Louisiana. The dogs are all being evaluated, the young strong ones will easily be rehabilitated and adopted out.

Some bait dogs will have a harder time. They can be old, sick and obviously injured, 10 dogs were put down immediately because of their conditions. There was one dog, an older dog.. the oldest in the ring, she is heartworm positive, had been stabbed in the throat and is covered from head to toe in scars… “Hope”. She has been to hell and back but, now she has hope through a local rescue. Last Hope K 9 Rescue. She will undergo Heartworm treatment, she is already living in foster care. Hope doesn’t understand why she was treated like trash and why people were so mean to her, she was and is innocent. This was of no choice of her own. She only knows how to give love. She loves her people, she loves the kids around her. There are dogs like Hope all over the country just waiting for their chance to be free and love. ♥ I am lucky enough to know Hope’s foster mom and love she has been able to give Hope the HOPE to survive and love.
Last Hope K 9 rescue has a HUGE initiative going on through June “The Heartworm Project”
They are raising money, $10,800 to give 18 dogs a chance at being saved and getting the treatment they need. Hope is already safe but, she is praying some other dog friends will have the same chance she has been granted.
