Police Chief: 'Minor Damage' to Cruiser
A police cruiser that was rammed Friday afternoon suffered little damage, Police Chief Allen Krajcik said.

The police cruiser that was involved in a minor collision Friday afternoon during a pursuit suffered little damage, Police Chief said.
A cruiser was "deliberately rammed" after Easton Police Officer Robert Tuohy began towhich had reportedly been driving recklessly The driver, Franklin W. Harbester, 40, of 908 W. Washington St. was eventually caught and arrested.
The cruiser, Krajcik said, suffered only minor damage. He said funds in the police budget are set aside for instances such as Friday's and the department can often collect from the insurance of the driver who caused the damage.

If the town mechanic is unable to repair the damage, he said the police often use a local body shop. They are required to get three bids, he said.
Harbester was arrested for personal injury accident, assault/battery on a police officer with a dangerous weapon, operating recklessly, operating on a suspended driver’s license, possession of class B (cocaine), and failure to stop for a police officer.
