Police Log: Car Hits Telephone Pole Near Church
Excerpts from the Easton Police Department log.

Friday, Aug. 8
At 12:52 a.m., police received an open line 911 call regarding a domestic situation on Miller Road. Police reported a verbal argument between two parties, and the male party had left the scene. Caller was advised.
At 12:34 p.m., police received a call regarding assault and battery on Belmont Street. The caller reported she was assaulted at work. Officers spoke to the parties involved and the subject was advised.

At 8:40 p.m., police responded to a party at Porticellos Restaurant on Turnpike Street who thought the restaurant depleted his $100 gift card. The party was told there were no funds on his card and he had to pay using his credit card. Party was unsuccessful in trying to work it out with the owner. An officer spoke with the establishment.

At 12:28 a.m., police received a report of a suspicious motor vehicle in the parking lot of Wendy’s Restaurant on Washington Street. A Wendy’s employee told police the vehicle, a black or dark red pick-up truck, had been in the parking lot for four hours. The employee reported that the operator of the vehicle appeared to be sluggish. The vehicle was gone on arrival.
At 2:08 a.m., police received a call from Mobil Gas Station on Foundry Street reporting that the operator of a gray SUV appeared to be sleeping at pump number five. Officer reported the party was just tired and the vehicle was secured at Mobil for the night. The party was transported to his residence in Foxboro.
At 3:07 a.m., police received a complaint of a barking dog on Highland Street and Heidi Road. Officer reported the dog was located on Highland Street and was running loose. No one was home at the residence and officers reported they were unable to get the dog.
At 3:17 a.m., police responded to an accident where a car hit a telephone pole at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Lincoln Street. There was damage to the pole, but the driver received no injuries.
At 2:07 p.m., police received a call reporting a female party walking down Bay Road, appearing to be harassed by a male party in a black pick up. Caller said the female party looked distraught, but did not want help from the calling party. Officers reported a verbal argument and advised both parties.
Sunday, Aug. 10
At 1:46 a.m., police responded to a call of suspicious activity on Village Street. The caller reported unknown people behind his home with flashlights. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the source of suspicious activity.
At 2:20 p.m., police reported breaking and entering on Foundry Street. Parties reported they came home from vacation the night before to find their house broken into and were missing jewelry and various items.
At 10:46 p.m., police responded to a caller reporting a black male trying to start a fight at Mobil Gas Station on Foundry Street. Party fled in a black Honda. Officers reported it was a verbal situation. All parties left prior to officer’s arrival.
Monday, Aug. 11
At 12:38 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on Walden Drive regarding a large party with loud music. Police reported it was a small gathering. Parties were advised to keep the noise down.
