Police Log: Taunton Man Arrested for Drunk Driving After Multiple Crashes

Friday, Oct. 25
At 8:27 a.m., an Easton resident reported his car was keyed overnight.
At 8:33 a.m., police responded to Roche Brothers Way about a man possibly sleeping in a vehicle. An officer spoke to the man who was waiting for his girlfriend to finish work.
At 11:06 a.m., police received a call from Linden Street about a fox in the area. It was the same fox that had been reported in the area for several weeks and was reportedly injured. The injured fox was euthanized.

At 4:11 p.m., police received a call from Roche Brothers Way after a man reportedly approached a woman and made a racial comment to her. The man left before police arrived.

Saturday, Oct. 26
At 4 a.m., a person called police to report a person inside a closed business. The man was reportedly wearing dark-colored clothing. An officer spoke to the “suspicious” man who was working at the business overnight.
At 11:14 a.m., a Nancy Road resident reported finding four needles on the side of the road and one was uncapped. Police retrieved the items.
At 3:33 p.m., police responded to Depot Street after a two-car accident. One car was towed.
At 11:46 p.m., police placed an intoxicated Norwood male into protective custody.
Sunday, Oct. 27
At 1:03 a.m., police placed an intoxicated Easton male into protective custody.
At 12:22 p.m., police received a call about two men in masks following another vehicle. The men were wearing “V for Vendetta” masks. They left the area.
At 1:31 p.m., police received a call about a pocketbook stolen out of a car on Lincoln Street.
At 3:26 p.m., police arrested David J. Looney, 228 West Britannia St, Taunton, and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and a default warrant. Police responded to Williams Street about a car crash and a vehicle on its side. Looney had allegedly earlier struck a car on Highland Street. Police arrested Looney.
