Police Searching for Red Mazda Connected to Easton Shooting

EASTON, MA — Police are searching for a red 2016 Mazda 3 that may be connected to a shooting in Easton.

Wednesday, the Bristol County District Attorney's office announced that are seeking the public's help in locating the vehicle, The DA's office says the sedan has a Florida license plate with the tag number 372QQK.

At 1:06 p.m. Tuesday, Easton police received a 911 call from a woman who told police that her young sons, while riding their bikes in the woods near Pond Street and Langwater Pond, found a man that was shot.

The man, identified as Daniel G. Smith, 35, formerly of Easton, was found about 25 yards into the woods, the District Attorney's office said. He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton before being flow to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where he remains in critical condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
