Retiring Easton Police Officer Gets Celebratory Sendoff
Electronic street signs and a birthday cake greeted Lonnie Ataman in his final shift after 32 years working for the Easton Police.
EASTON, MA — The Easton Police Department celebrated the career of Lonnie Ataman last week with a special sendoff that included electronic streets signs congratulating him on 32 years in the department and as he looked toward retirement. Ataman’s final shift was on his birthday on Nov. 13.
"Lonnie embodied what it meant to be a true professional in law enforcement and we wish him well in his retirement," Easton PD posted onits Facebook page. "Happy Birthday Lonnie and Congratulations on an outstanding career serving the Town of Easton!"
Ataman's wife and daughter were able to come in and spend time at the station during Ataman’s final patrol shift.
