SET Vibes Offers New Look at Southeastern Regional
The student-run Facebook page aims to give comprehensive coverage of school activities and events

Southeastern’s student-run Facebook page, SET Vibes, is getting more popular this year, thanks to a great variety of articles, videos and photos that are attracting more followers.
The page, which now has 471 Likes, is run by Business and Marketing students, who are working to include students and staff throughout the school as fellow contributors. The students are posting sporting events, school activities, and special events that have been taking place in and outside of school. They are also featuring students and shops in weekly spotlight series.
Sophomore Kelli LaPointe, one of the page managers, said she has really enjoyed reaching out to different people in school in order to get information. Kelli transferred to Southeastern from Brockton High School, and she said the assignment has helped her get acquainted with the school.

“It’s been really fun. I’ve really learned a lot about the school and have gotten to know a lot of people really quickly,” she said.
In the last few weeks, Kelli and another student, Laura Schnitzer, have posted photos from the school’s Trashin-Fashion show, a rap video about the Hawks sports teams (performed by senior Alex Hernandez), a photo series on the Empty Bowls project (a project by senior Sarah Gobbi photographed by Design and Visual Communications students), and a “Family and Fun Day” senior project by senior Kelly Lopes.

Business and Marketing teacher Wade Gomes said his students hope to get a growing number people involved with the page. He said his students are also working to link all school events and activities to their page, which would promote articles from the school website, local media and other Facebook pages.
“The students are learning all about social media, marketing and publicity,” he said.
Other SERSD pages on Facebook include the school’s page (managed by administration), SERSD music, SET environmental, Southeastern Culinary Arts Alumni, Southeastern Regional HS Athletics, Southeastern Technical Institute, and Southeastern Regional Alumni Association.
