Seven House Break-ins Reported Last Week

Seven house break-ins in Easton have been reported since last Tuesday

were called to investigate seven house break-ins since last Tuesday.

The first incident occurred last Tuesday (Oct. 11) on Prospect Street when police were called to investigate the incident at approximately 3:45 p.m.

A day later, four incidents were reported: one on Black Brook Road at 11 a.m. in which a caller reported the break-in in progress. An officer arrived to find the sliding glass door open and called for a K-9 search team. The suspect was not located, however. Another break-in at Black Brook was reported at 7:30 when a resident reported her jewelry missing

Break-ins at Poquonticut Ave and Oakland Avenue were also reported on Wednesday.

Two break-ins were reported on Friday on Bay Road.

Two Arrested For Shoplifting Wednesday

Police were called to on Wednesday evening to arrest two individuals for shoplifting.

Derek Gomes, 23, of Norton Glen Road, Norton and Katlyn Ofstein, 25, of Waterman Road N. Providence were arrested after a security officer apprehended the individuals.

Five Car Accident Friday Evening

Five cars were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Washington Street after one driver allegedly struck a vehicle heading in the opposite direction and then continued to crash in to other vehicles.

Police and responded to the scene to find no injuries. Police expect to issue a summons to the responsible driver.
