Easton Police Shoot Man Following Crash
Police said the man pointed what appeared to be a gun at them. The officers were not injured.

EASTON, MA — At least one officer shot a man who pointed what appeared to be a gun at them, police said. The man suffered what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries, according to a spokesperson for Easton Police Chief Gary Sullivan.
The two officers were not injured, but were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Whether the man had a gun is under investigation.

Police said officers responded to Bay Road around 2 p.m. after a woman said there was someone knocking on her door and there was a vehicle in her driveway. When police arrived, the man sped away, according to police.
Police said they maintained their distance but did not pursue the man, who crashed into another car on Bay Road.

Neither driver was injured, but a man who got out of one of the SUVs with what police said appeared to be a handgun, pointing it at officers was shot.
Two officers fired at the man, striking him at least once. Police said the officers feared for their safety and the safety of those in the area.
The officers provided aid to the man and called for backup. Another officer soon responded to assist.
The officers are both on paid leave during an investigation led by the Bristol County District Attorney's office.
