Shoveltown 12U Baseball Wins Dan Duquette Tournament
An unlikely comeback led to a tournament victory this past weekend.

Submitted to Easton Patch:
The Shoveltown Baseball Club 12U team completed an improbable comeback in the Dan Duquette Sports Academy Baseball Tournament the first weekend in August to take home the Championship trophy with a 16-4 win over the Western MA Storm. After dropping the first game 5-4 to the Storm, SBC beast Westfield MA, Granbury CT, and West Hartford CT to face the Storm again in the finals. All 12 SBC players contributed significantly throughout the tournament.
Shoveltown marched 5 different players to the mound, and everyone on the roster had at least 2 hits during the weekend.

“We were impressed with the way the team adapted to the larger diamond and pitching speed. The practices we got in at Frothingham Park before the tournament were essential to our success,” said Coach Chris Romans.
SBC will hold tryouts for the 2013 season on August 19, 2012 at Campanelli Stadium in Brockton. Visit www.shoveltownbaseball.com for tryout information and registration.
