Southeastern to Perform Aladdin on May 5-7
Tickets can be purchased by calling Kerri Cooper at 508-230-1442
Southeastern’s Black Box Theater will be transformed into the magical city of Agrabah next month, when its student players perform their annual spring musical, Aladdin Jr., on May 5, 6, and 7.
The musical is adapted from the Broadway version of Aladdin, which is based on the same plot as the animated movie. It also includes many of the same characters, including Genie, played by David Read of Foxboro, Aladdin, played by Alex Barros of Stoughton, and Princess Jasmine, played by Mili Morales of Brockton.
“The whole ensemble is very impressive. Everyone is working together wonderfully, and putting all their energy into this,” said Performing Arts Director Kerri Cooper.

The singing is bound to be a highlight this year, as the students have been coached by a new music director, Caitlin Nuckolls, who was trained at the New England Conservatory of Music. They will be singing many of the same songs as the animated movie, including “Arabian Nights,” “One Jump Ahead,” “Friend Like Me,” “Prince Ali,” and a “Whole New World.”
Other main performers include Amber Reynolds-White of Brockton as the Magic Carpet, Patrick O’Brien of Brockton as Jafar, Dioneysis Rosario of Brockton as Iago (the parrot), and Chris Betti of Mansfield as the Sultan.
