Southeastern Reg. Voc-Tech High School Holds Raffle for Tiny House

The public is welcome to tour the student-built house that will be on display this Tuesday and Wednesday

A tiny house, fully equipped with electrical wiring, heating, plumbing, and all the amenities of a comfortable home, is being raffled off this month through Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, 250 Foundry Street, South Easton. Tickets are $30, and the tentative drawing date is May 31.

The house will also be open for touring this Tuesday and Wednesday, May 23 and 24, at the school during school hours (until 2 p.m.). Tickets can be bought at the school office or by calling the school at 508-230-1259. Proceeds will benefit the school’s Travel Club, which is planning a trip to Japan during the 2018 school year.

The tiny house was built by vocational students at the school’s new "Makerspace" facility, which is designed for student-led projects. It is on wheels, and it includes a bathroom, kitchen, loft bedroom with a convertible couch (living space converts to sleep area), heat, air conditioning, a convection oven, a gas-run refrigerator, and a built-in kitchen table with stools.
