Spray Paint Fumes Ignite, Burn Easton Man

The 32-year-old man was rushed to Boston Medical Center and treated for burns to his hands, face and neck.

EASTON, MA — A man suffered serious burns Thursday night when fumes from the spray paint he was using ignited.

Around 5:15 p.m., firefighters were called to the man's house on Purchase Street. According to fire officials, the man was spray-painting his snowblower in an enclosed garage that also housed a wood-burning stove.

The 32-year-old man was rushed to Boston Medical Center and treated for burns to his hands, face and neck. Fire officials said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said residents should always use caution when dealing with indoor fireplaces and wood stoves.
