State Senator for Easton Passes Away
State Senator Tom Kennedy of Brockton has died at the age of 63.

One of Easton’s state senators has passed away after serving in the State House for over three decades.
Senator Tom Kennedy of Brockton was 63 and was fighting cancer, according to WBZ. He represented Easton precincts one and two as a state senator.
“For over 30 years, in both the House and Senate, Senator Thomas P. Kennedy served the people of Massachusetts with distinction. A true champion of Democratic Party values, Senator Kennedy overcame unforeseeable obstacles and became a role model and a leader to so many of his colleagues and his district,” state Democratic Party Chair Tom McGee said.

Kennedy was elected to the state legislature in 1983, becoming the state representative for the Ninth Plymouth District. He was elected to the state Senate in 2008.
