Taunton Man Arrested After Allegedly Colliding With a Police Cruiser in an Early Morning Chase
Michael P. Brennan of Taunton was arrested for five charges early Sunday

A Taunton man was arrested early Sunday morning after he sent Easton police on a chase that resulted in some damaged lawns and a collision with a police cruiser.
Police Chief Allen Krajcik said Michael P. Brennan, 31, of 132 North Walker Street, Taunton was arrested for operating negligibly, failing to stop for police, leaving the scene of property damage, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (his vehicle) and speeding. Brennan was released on bail and is expected to appear in Taunton District Court Monday morning.
Krajcik said Brennan's car was first observed by Easton Police Officer Brandon Walkus at 1 a.m., who noticed a 2004 BMW traveling at a "very high rate of speed" southbound on Washington Street near Belmont Street.

After failing to stop for Walkus, Brennan turned right on to Cinnamon Ridge Road - a dead end street, Krajcik said. Brennan allegedly traveled across several lawns before his vehicle struck Walkus' cruiser, damaging the front-end bars. He then fled north on Turnpike Street toward Brockton, Krajcik said.
Brennan was arrested a short time later by state police in Taunton and transported to Easton for booking. Krajcik said there were no injuries reported.
