The Same Mighty Power

2 Corinthians 5:19 (NLT) - For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them.  And He gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Remember Jesus’ command to love others as He loved them?  When Jesus gave His life for us, He reconciled us with God.  In His great kindness, mercy and love, He forgave everything.

Do we follow Jesus’ example?  Do we forgive sincerely and fully?  From a recent devotion at GoodMorningGirls.org, Jen writes:

Sin breaks everything, including relationships. How many friendships have been ruined because of careless words or cruel intentions? But just as God reconciled us to himself we are to pursue reconciliation with others. Over and over again sin will work its way between friends, within marriage, and among siblings. And over and over again we need to make repairs where sin has done damage.

Reconciliation isn’t easy.  But in the Resurrection, God released His power into us.  Through God we have the power to do things we can’t do on our own, like forgiving.  The Apostle Paul prays for us to understand and utilize this power:

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT) - I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him.  This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead.
