OA boys' basketball renews acquaintances with Stoughton (both 5-0 on the year) to highlight this week's slate.

Highlighted by the boys and girls basketball teams and , respectively, the Oliver Ames sports teams capped off a strong post-holiday week.
In addition to basketball’s success, winter track to improve to 3-0 and the wrestling team performed well at the Marshfield and Middleboro tournaments.

This week, boys’ basketball prepares for a pivotal showdown against one of its Davenport Division rivals and the hockey team faces a team looking for revenge after knocking them out of last year’s state tournament. Here’s a further look at the week ahead.
Basketball

Last year, the OA boys team and Stoughton had two games for the ages. Both games went into multipule overtimes with the Black Knights posting two dramatic victories in the season sweep.
What will be in store when the Tigers and Black Knights put their perfect 5-0 records on the line Friday night at 6:30 p.m. in Stoughton? Can OA snap its losing streak against its small Hock rivals or will Stoughton continue to be the class of the Davenport?
Meanwhile, the OA girls put its perfect 4-0 record on the line Tuesday night at 7:15 p.m. when they travel to Duxbury to face the Lady Dragons. The Lady Tigers won the first match-up of the year back on Dec. 22 at the Nixon Gymnasium.
Coach Elaine-Clement Holbrook and company conclude the week with a divisional matchup against Stoughton (2-2 overall, 1-2 Hockomock League, 1-0 Davenport) Friday night at the Nixon Gymnasium. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m.
Hockey
After shocking Canton (3-0) last year in the Division 2 South sectionals, the OA hockey team (1-2, 0-1 Hock) will face its Davenport rivals for the first time this winter. The two teams will take the ice Wednesday night at ASIAF Rink in Brockton for a 6:30 p.m. faceoff.
OA concludes the week when they travel to Foxborough (3-0-1) to face an improved Warrior squad Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
Winter Track
Following wins over Sharon, the OA track teams (3-0 overall/division) return to action on Thursday against winless Franklin (0-2) for a 4 p.m. start at Boston University.
The Tigers will also compete in the Freshman/Sophomore meet on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
Wrestling
Following its appearance in the Middleboro tournament, head coach Adam Pomella and the rest of the OA wrestling squad returns to dual-meet action against Franklin Wednesday at 7 p.m. before facing Everett, Quincy and Braintree in a quad meet Saturday morning at 9 a.m. Both meets will take place at the Nixon Gymnasium.
Swimming
After a week off, the OA swim teams (boys 1-1, girls 0-2) return to action when they travel to Mansfield for a 7 p.m. matchup on Wednesday.
Head coach Lauren Gray and company ends the week with a home matchup against Stoughton at Massasoit Community College Friday at 4 p.m.
