Two Housebreak Attempts Reported Overnight
Easton Police warn residents to call 911 if they hear anything suspicious

are warning residents to stay alert and call 911 immediately if they hear anything suspicious at their home.
The warning comes after two attempted housebreaks in a 55 and older community overnight. While there have been a , the incidents early Tuesday were the first night-time housebreaks in occupied homes in recent memory, Police Chief said.
Krajcik said police responded to a call at Twins Brook Drive just after midnight reporting that someone had ripped the screen off of a bedroom window and was attempting to gain entry into the house. The suspect fled, but police later learned that someone was attempting to break into a different residence in the same development at Kathleen Grant Road.

Along with state police, Krajcik said officers used a scent tracking dog to follow the suspect through swamp-land and to at 87 Eastman Street, where it was believed the suspect had a getaway car.
A short time later, Krajcik said a similar incident occured in a 55 and older development in Stoughton.
