Woman Steals Liquor Bottle; Police Make Her Pay Up
The following are excerpts from the Easton police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Mon., March 10
- 2:43 p.m. A woman was reported to have shoplifted at the Hannaford on Robert Drive.
- 3:05 p.m. "Annoying" telephone calls were reported on Lothrop Street.
- 5:59 p.m. A clerk at Independent Liquors called police, saying a regular female customer who goes by "Donna" stole a bottle of liquor. An officer went to her residence to confront her, at which point the woman said she would go back and pay for the liquor, which she ended up doing.
- 6:58 p.m. A Sharron Drive resident reported he suspects someone is stealing his Comcast Internet service.
- 7:14 p.m. A lost black lab was brought into the police station. The owner came in a short time later to retrieve the dog.
- 8:32 p.m. A woman said someone with a foreign accent called her and said she needed to call a certain number or she would be reported to the IRS.
- 7:34 a.m. A caller said Norton school buses were speeding on Cranberry Lane.
- 10:34 a.m. A break-in was reported on Purchase Street.
- 11:06 a.m. A motorist driving on Center Street said a vehicle was attempting to run another vehicle off the road.
- 3:51 p.m. A stolen truck was reported on Eastman Street.
