1 Seriously Injured In Weekend Cape Cod Crash
The head-on crash sent two people to off-Cape hospitals, including one who suffered serious injury, officials said.
BOURNE, MA — One driver involved in a head-on car crash on Cape Cod over the weekend suffered serious injuries, police said.
Bourne police and fire officials responded to Sandwich Road near Longboat Road around 2:25 a.m. on Saturday for the reported accident involving two vehicles.
First responders needed to extricate one person who was entrapped in a vehicle when they arrived.

A preliminary investigation found that a 25-year-old Burlington man was driving a small SUV when it crossed the centerline, striking a GMC pickup truck head-on.
Officials said the SUV driver suffered possible minor injuries, but that the driver of the GMC suffered serious injury. Both were taken to off-Cape medical facilities.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Bourne Police Department with assistance from the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team.
