2 People, 1 Dog Dead In Cape Cod Fire

Both people were transported from the residential Dennis fire to Cape Cod Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

DENNIS, MA — Two people and one dog have died after a residential fire on Cape Cod over the weekend.

Both people were pulled from a home in Dennis just before 7 a.m. on Sunday. They were transported to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, but were pronounced dead.

According to a media statement from Fire Chief Robert Brown published by the Hyannis News, the fire at 1 Niblick Rd. was reported at about 6:52 a.m.

Officials saw smoke on arrival and quickly worked to extinguish the fire and make entry to the duplex, where they found a man and a woman, as well as a dog.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the Dennis Fire Department, Dennis Police Department, and state police investigators assigned to the offices of the Cape & Islands District Attorney and State Fire Marshal.
