5 Things You Need to Know Today, 2/4

1) Today it will be sunny, with highs in the mid 30s and west winds 15 to 20 mph. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with near-steady temperatures in the upper 20s and west winds 15 to 20 mph. 

2) Students in Grades 1 to 6 will have the opportunity to learn the design, fabrication and operation of many types of puppets from Puppet Master Jakek Zuzanski at the . The three class sessions (on Fridays) will each feature a different kind of puppet. Materials will be on hand, but a list of proposed donations will be provided.

3) The  will host an Old Time Gospel Night this evening from 7:30–10 pm. John Yankee will be leading this exciting evening, which features sacred bluegrass, spirituals and hymns. Performing along with Mr. Yankee is Richard Gregory Allen on fiddle, Rich Armstrong on mandolin, Ned Quist on guitar, John Alden on bass and Jim Shaw on banjo for a stomping good time! There will be a small reception afterward and a great time is guaranteed for all.
