5 Things You Need to Know Today, 2/7
Valentines messages, photo galleries and more for February 7.

1) Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Tonight, rain and snow are likely, mainly after 1 am. It will be cloudy, with a low around 31. Little or no snow accumulation is expected.
2) Falmouth residents who have loved ones serving far from home on military assignments are invited to come to the studios today from 3 to 7 pm to record a 30-second Valentine message in front of one of a dozen Valentine's Day backdrops. Up to ten people can appear in the 30 second message. Messages will be run during Valentine's Day week on Channel 13 and on www.fctv.org. 3) Members of the Upper Cape Camera Club have gathered 60 photographs to document this amazing winter of snow and ice in the gallery of the . Most of the photos are of local places and people, some are dramatic scenes from around the world where members of the UCCC have recently travelled. The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10 am - 5 pm.

4) The Mostly String Concert with Bill Black and John Yankee will be at the tonight at 7 pm. This concert will feature the hammered dulcimer, octave mandolin, banjo, piano and more. The entertainment will include contemporary and traditional songs and ballads. Proceeds from the show will benefit the West Falmouth Library and the musicians.
5) This day in history: Benjamin Franklin publishes "An Imaginary Speech" (1775); the Beatles arrive in New York (1964); and the European Union treaty is signed (1992).
